My name is Maria E. Lebron, and after 30 years of public service protecting and serving the people of Newark, I am running for Councilwoman At-Large because our city deserves leadership that listens, works hard, and delivers results.
My campaign is built on four priorities: safer neighborhoods, stronger families, youth opportunities, and equitable resources for every ward in Newark.
First, safer neighborhoods. Every resident deserves to feel safe walking down their block, taking their children to school, and enjoying their community. With my background in law enforcement and community advocacy, I will work to strengthen the partnership between residents, community organizations, and public safety to keep our neighborhoods safe.
Second, stronger families. When families are supported, communities thrive. I will continue advocating for programs that protect victims of domestic violence, support working families, and provide the resources our communities need to succeed.
Third, youth opportunities. Our young people are the future of Newark. We must invest in mentorship, education, recreation, and career opportunities that keep our youth engaged, inspired, and on the path to success.
And finally, equitable resources. Every neighborhood in Newark deserves fair access to city services, clean streets, safe parks, and economic opportunities.
As your Councilwoman At-Large, I will fight to ensure every ward is heard and respected.
Newark has given me so many opportunities, and I am not done serving this city I love.
Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more united Newark.
